So I am bummed out that the State of the Union is on the same day as Chinese Lunar Year. I found this Coca Cola can in the fridge today at my favorite cafe.

My mom used to work for Coca Cola in billing. She had to go on a truck run to understand how the dispensers were attached and how much the cost of labor and travel time it takes to switch out dispensers. My mom was energetic and had a sense of humor. She held onto her job even during her colon cancer.

So when I saw this can in the fridge today, I believe in the brand. It managed to celebrate across cultural boundaries and support us as Chinese in America.

I hope the State of the Union will not put a damper on our Lunar Year of the Pig.
